Alfresco Dining - The Romance Edition

Wednesday, August 3, 2016

Hello ya'll!
So glad to be a participant in the Alfresco Tablescape Blog Hop,
hosted by Chloe, of Celebrate & Decorate!
...and I'm even more excited you stopped by for a visit, Welcome!

If you've been following the Blog Hop this week,
wouldn't you agree, they certainly have all been a real treat,
 ...lots of  creativity and fabulous'ness!
And what better backdrop for dining
than God's beautiful creation, the outdoors!

I've assembled several alfresco-style tablescapes this summer,
but I do believe, this is my favorite!

Maybe 'cause it's one that could be shared with my sweetie, Mr. Ramblings!
...an intimate setting for two, in a secluded back corner of our yard.

I've discovered the way to my man's heart...
good food, by one of his favorite old Chevys.
What a recipe for romance... got to keep it alive!  ;)

The vintage china, below, was the inspiration for the romantic dinner for two.
(Noritake, Azalea Pattern)

Brought out the Noritake Sweet Swirl Stems, part of our wedding china.

Sweet, airy arrangements of white spider mums, pink roses, baby's breath,
and asparagus fern in delicate antique vases make my heart happy!

Pineapples... a southern staple!

Antlers lend a rustic feel to the otherwise feminine tablesetting.
Got to add just a smidge of manliness to the mix!

A thrifted find chandie is ready to be lit when the sun starts to fade!

After almost 24 years {and children},
it's stolen moments away alone that are both precious and special!
...and often rare!

Thanks for dropping by!
We're only halfway through the Blog Hop,
so be sure to check out the other tablescapes on slate for the week,
from a collection of very talented bloggers!

And a big thanks to Chloe,
for creating and organizing the event!
It's been fun, and a pleasure to be a part of!

  7. Rhonda, love the mix you put together by the Chevy for this tablescape! Like you, I like a little mix of masculine/feminine - and vintage! I have those Azalea dishes! They're very pretty, and date from the 1930s. It's so fun being a part of Chloe's blog hop and seeing all the different, inspiring interpretations of tables and outdoor dining. Yours is a great one!

  8. Oh my, this is so beautiful, it looks like a magazine shoot! I love the vintage vibe of the truck! It also ads such a nice soft blue out in nature. I bet it is perfect if you light that chandelier after dark! I always love when you use indoor furniture, like your elegant chairs out in nature, it is such an amazing contrast! A white tablecloth always says a special meal is upon you! Thank you so much for being a part of the Tablescape Blog Hop!

  9. I think you get the award (so far) for the most unique background to your alfresco tablescape! Love the colour of the truck and how you contrasted it beautifully with the pink roses and china. The antlers on the table provide a wonderful masculine contrast that ties in with the truck. The setting in the wooded area is also perfect. This Alfresco Blog Hop is terrific as I've so enjoyed seeing how people dine outdoors and my visit here has been so rewarding!

  17. The tablescape is a surprise elegance. I love the soft romantic elements of the floral dinnerware, chandelier, fresh flowers under a beautiful shaded tree with candlelight. The deer antler and pick up truck really adds some surprise masculine elements and really adds a contrasting interest. So unexpected, but so much more of an impact. Strong and soft at the same time. Beautifully done.

  18. Rhonda -
What a beautiful setting and how ideal to juxtaposition those lovely tabletop items to that adorable Chevy. I'm so touched to see that china pattern, as my grandmother had it too. (I don't know what happened to it, by the way.) I hope that the evening was all you had hoped, and that you made a beautiful memory.
