Lily P. Inspired Flower Arrangement

Sunday, August 7, 2016

This past week was a hard one for our little town.
A beautiful, vibrant 16 year old girl, Raven,
lost her life in a drowning at Lake Waccamaw.

Always sporting an infectious smile, she was friends with most everyone she met!

And she loved Lilly Pulitzer!
So much so, after many friends bombarded Instagram with pictures of her
in Lilly, Lilly Pulitzer's Print Studio created a 5x5 Lilly print in her honor.
Her name can be seen in the petal of the upper left hand flower.

My daughter, Ashley, was asked to make a flower arrangement,
Lilly P. style, by the mother of one of Raven's closest friends.

Along with Lilly accents, they also requested pearls.
Pretty pearl picks were found at Hobby Lobby.

She crafted "Lilly rosebuds" out of Lilly Pulitzer fabric.

The fabric flowers and pearls were combined with beautiful deep pink carnations,
white roses, green spider mums, and greenery.

And a heat transfer gold monogram was added to
pink ribbon tied around the vase.

For such a sad, tragic circumstance,
the bright, cheerful arrangement was very befitting of Raven
and the life she lived!

Sorry for the sad post,
but life isn't always pretty and pleasant, is it?

Hug your loved ones,
and please be in prayer for Raven's family, and our kids that are grieving!

  2. Rhonda, I am so saddened for Raven's family and friends...what a tragic loss at such a young age! Eighteen years ago our closest neighbor's' 16 year old son drowned. He was three years older than our son, but they played together. There are no words, but prayer, hugs, and being there are the best things you can do. Ashley did a beautiful job on the floral arrangement! No, life is not all pretty stuff! Love and hugs, Pam @ Everyday Living

  3. I'm so sorry to hear about this tragic loss. These things are always hard to bear but especially when the loss is someone so young and full of life. Your daughter's arrangement is absolutely stunning and a very fitting tribute to Raven.
