Let's Go Shopping Carolinas... Inspirations of Raleigh, NC

Tuesday, August 4, 2015

While spending a few days with Ashley in Raleigh last week,
we embarked on a little "sight seeing."
For two hobby shoppers, "sight seeing" entails browsing various boutiques
and home decor shops, that sell both new, and previously loved!  :)

We've both been following Inspirations Home Decor & More for a few months
on FB and Instagram, ranking it high on our list of destinations for the day.

When we walked into Inspirations, we were greeted by the wonderful scents of
the savory candles, below, locally made by Carolina Wacky Wicks.
Each candle is individually poured and crafted.

Inspirations depicts it's name well, with 30 vendors set up in a 10,000 square foot showroom.
The collage of vendors, offer upscale consignments, accessories, furniture, rugs, art,
 fashions, vintage clothing, and jewelry.

The home decor selections have a very elegant and sophisticated flair,
but for the most part, are surprisingly affordable.
I've traveled to many similar shops across the southeast that offer upcycled, repurposed furniture,
and I have to say, the vendors at Inspirations do a superb job,
the quality and workmanship was exceptional!

We had the pleasure of meeting Meme Bonakdar,
the craftsman behind the piece above, and other fine creations!
Very talented, her repurposed items are professionally and beautifully done.

Visit her website for a gallery of her work... House of Jewels

More of Bonakdar's creations...

We also met Shanna Middleton, of One of a Kind Find and Design,
who transformed the striking table and chairs set, below.

It pays to follow the artists of Inspirations on FB and Instagram.
$395 was a great price for this set,
but Middleton was offering an Instagram Special for $295!

She also built these beautifully crafted tables...

More pretties from inside Inspirations...

I so want to go back and get this rustic beauty,
if I can just find a place for it!

Inspirations offers wares for a menagerie of styles,
...modern/contemporary, french country, traditional, eclectic, vintage/farmhouse,
 coastal/nautical, and more.

Love the trim on the chair, below!

New take on a "Flower Pot Chair,"  using a board instead of wire.

Very unusual finish on this unique drop leaf table, appears to be a stenciled design.

If you're in the Raleigh area and would like to check out Inspirations,
they are located at 8601 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC.
You can also look them up on FB, Instagram, and on their WEBSITE.

But how about leaving that cowhide chair for me... just in case I find a spot for it!  :)

  3. You have some fabulous places to shop in NC! I would have never dreamed of some of the paint and fabrics but they really complement each other well. Note: this says it will comment as kelliannesg but it's really cindy of onlymehere. I'll have to see how to fix that.
