Have you ever felt that your home looked perfectly fine, relatively clean,
until you have a party or event planned and guests coming over?
Then you begin to take notice of
every little project that needs to be done or completed,
decor that needs tweaking and updating,
or that the dust boards suddenly need serious dusting.
Nicks and scratches in doors and moldings that were invisible before are blatantly screaming
for a touch-up of fresh paint.
Maybe I'm "preaching to the choir,"
or maybe I'm the only one ever in this dilemma.
Anyhow, I have a ladies group coming for a meeting at my home in a couple of weeks.
Before then, I'll be busy "Refreshing My Nest!"
Check back if you would like to see my progress.
Nothing big or elaborate planned, just little projects.
At the end of the Refreshing My Nest posts, I'll have a give-away to offer.
A little something to refresh everyone's home.

Refreshing My Nest 1 - Front Door Valentines Wreaths
The first project I tackled, was my front porch.
I never seem to really know what to do with it after Christmas.
Without flowers or ferns (dead of winter) or garlands and wreaths of Christmas,
it gets pretty dull!
To make it more welcoming, I bought two cute Valentine Wreaths at our local Garden Center.
They custom make them in-house, allowing the customer to choose the ribbon combination.
The pansies were purchased at Lowe's Home Improvement,
from the Clearance Rack for $4.00 each for a 10"-12" pot.
Couldn't ask for a better color, worked out well! :)
I am debating on spraying the urns black.
The door frames will most likely be painted black in the Spring, also.
Stay tuned for RMN 2 {Refreshing My Nest}!

Your wreaths are beautiful, now I need to stop surfing and go get out my valentines! Blessings, Debbie
ReplyDeleteSuch a welcoming door! Love the wreaths! We all get the bug to spruce a little when the weather turns warmer!!
ReplyDeleteThe wreaths are darling but I love, love, love your doors! What an impressive entry.
ReplyDeleteDon't laugh but before Trav came home I had to clean off the top of the kitchen cabinets and all the light fixtures, etc. Brianna kept telling me that no one would notice but I knew I would! I even had out the paint to touch up knicks that had magically appeared since last fall and everyone bathroom had to have new shower liners and be totally cleaned from ceiling to heat vents! I'm nuts that way when someone comes over, especially overnight guests.
Your home is always so lovely that I can't imagine what needs refreshing so this will be an interesting few posts while you do this.
Make that "everyone's" and not "everyone." I was just thinking that I should be this nuts about daily clutter but I tend to let that pile up for a bit and then clean it all off. That's my Achilles heel in the house....that and I absolutely hate doing dishes but to survive and not have the house reek I do them, lol!
ReplyDeleteCute! Love them! Thanks for sharing JoAnn
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful entry and your wreaths are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
That is so nice! I need to do some of that, too, but it will have to wait till summer. lol
ReplyDeleteYour wreaths look great...and the pillows are wonderful. I just hung my heart wreath on the door this afternoon. Better late than never!
