Let's Do A Little Window Shopping At The Barn

Thursday, April 7, 2016

Last week, Mr. Ramblings and I took off for a few days to Florida.

In retrospect, the timing probably wasn't the best,
as the traffic was insane on the interstate.
...so congested in some areas, we crept along at a snail's pace!
We attributed it to the ending of Spring Break and Easter Vacations.

But on the positive side, we got off of the Interstate several times,
and journeyed along some of the old roads, like 76 through North and South Carolina,
17 through Georgia, and 301 in Florida.

Traveling the old roads, was like traveling back in time.
We enjoyed the sights, such as in Darien, Ga... pictured above and below.
I regret that we didn't have more time to really explore
the neat little towns we rode through.

My favorite destination of the trip, was The Barn Antiques, in Lake Alfred, Florida.

I dropped my husband off at The Fantasy of Flight Museum in nearby Polk City,
and drove about 5 miles to The Barn, after googling antique shops.

As I pulled into the parking lot and saw The Barn was actually
a small compound  made up of several interesting looking shops,
I couldn't park and get out of the vehicle quickly enough!

The Barn Antiques opened in 1969, by Ednamay Wales, on the family ranch,
and is now in it's 6th decade of operation.

I didn't get a picture inside The Barn Antiques, but I was impressed with the
quality of items, and the prices were very reasonable.
And the space was so neat and clean!

The two gift shops on the property, were The Seasons...

...and The Stable!

Both shops were a delight!
The displays of merchandise and in-house floral arrangements
were beautiful, unique, charming, ...and fabulously over the top!

So let's do a little window shopping through the two shops.

The pictures are in random order, and come from both.

I did get a few things at each shop.
I shared them in Tuesday's post...
you can check it out {here}.

Even if you're unable to visit The Barn and the adjoining shops in person,
I hope you gained a little inspiration from the pictures.

I have one more section to share... The Back Yard Garden Shop.
...coming soon!  :)
