My home has been going through a series of musical chairs of sorts
since last fall, with my decor changing every few months
for the different holidays and seasons,
...Fall/Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, and then Easter.
I'll probably do a little for 4th of July, but other than refreshing a piece or two,
my home will remain much the same until next fall.
I found the set of Chelsea House Birds, below, a couple of years ago,
at a yard sale of an interior decorator that was selling out.
I scored the set for $25.00, which was a steal for Chelsea House!
Mr. Ramblings and I did a little traveling last week,
taking off to Florida for a few days.
Before I left, I plopped the birds on the foyer table,
along with the Waterford Paperweight, an estate sale find.

I knew the vignette just needed a little something
to pull it together... looked much too bare!
While on our trip, I happened upon The Barn Antiques Compound in rural Polk County, Fl.
After about two hours browsing, I have a lot more to share from the visit
in later posts, ...stay tuned!
I bought the greenery piece with eggs and nest attached,
in The Seasons Gift Shop, at The Barn.
I've shied away from faux greenery, after ridding my home of it years ago.
But I've begun to incorporate better quality pieces here and there.
And The Seasons Gift Shop did such a wonderful job displaying gorgeous vignettes
with faux greenery, that I couldn't resist.
But as I said... more on that later! :)
...you're in for a treat!

Just what the birdie vignette needed, a little touch (of greenery) that made a great impact!
I also picked up a set of three faux greenery balls,
which was a great addition to top glass candlesticks on the dining room buffet.
I'll be back soon with oodles of pictures from the two gift shops and plant nursery
at The Barn... great inspiration, I promise!

I love the way you brought in spring by adding a few new accessories. Birds and nests are my favorite and honestly I could leave them out year round. Those birds are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI'm laughing so much about you mentioning two leather chairs and a painted table in between. I am painting the table as we speak. The chairs were my husband's choice and I just went along with it. He's always so sweet to let me have my way that I figured this wouldn't kill me. :)
Celebrating here in my kitchen because you joined Thoughts of Home on Thursday. Thank you. :)
DeleteWhere is The Barn? I know you said Polk County, but what city is it near? East or West coast or central? I love to add a touch of faux greenery here and there. It brings some life to a vignette, matle or table. I love, love the CH birds!!! Gorgeous as are the glass candlesticks!
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda! Oh, I adore those birds - they're so beautiful! What a lovely vignette you've put together too! Glad you had a great trip.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
You already had some beautiful pieces I noticed, your glass lamps are gorgeous.
ReplyDeletehave a talent for well thought out vignettes, always pay attention to those for ideas in future.
I love to use bird cages, nests, birds. I have 3 birds, small, two of which were found in western KY. Found so many luscious goodies in KY when we lived there. Just now went to look at birds but no identifying markings anywhere, they're maybe 4-6 inches high but have an old fashioned way of being painted, love the style. Not tropical birds like yours.
Your birds are indeed so beautiful, there are so many styles/finishes guess they're popular for bird lovers all over huh?
I had gotten rid of most of my faux greenery but have noticed return of it's use. Love feathery like mosses and ferns plus dogwood styles, they look really nice and not so phoney.
Envy you being able to travel to hunt down treasures when you can. When we lived in MT and KY we went treasure hunting often. We live in western Co now and at least around Grand Junction is very expensive and not variety or style we like. Was glad I clicked on your post in the party. Have really nice rest of week.
Hello Rhonda, how fun to get away to Florida. I do hope you had fun. I love your pretty birds and the display. I hope you enjoy the week and weekend.

Love that little green nest! You're right that it will look good all through spring and into the summer.
ReplyDeleteThose parrots are really cool, and just a bit tropical---great for removing the winter doldrums...Thanks for sharing, Sandi
ReplyDeleteI love all your touches of greenery Rhonda, and the birds look wonderful with their nest~

Very pretty looks! Thanks for sharing at Home Sweet Home!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely vignette. And I will certainly need to check out the Barn as I live within driving distance and hopefully will be as lucky as you finding treasures.
ReplyDeleteAww...these are so neat! I love how they look! :)
