When I Grow Up...

...I want to be a Junk Gypsy,
just like
Jolie and Amie Sikes!

Have you seen their new show on HGTV???
Every Saturday night, at 7 pm,
I sit transfixed in front of the TV for a 30 minute glimpse at my dream life!
I'm not stalking them or anything, but I believe we could seriously be BFF's! ha! :)

Junk Gypsies {and Design Star}, are about the only shows I watch on HGTV anymore.
I mean, seriously...
how many hours can you possibly watch "Love It or List It" and HOUSE HUNTERS????

geeeesshhh...that gets a little monotonous! ha!

Anyhow, off of my HGTV soapbox,
and back to Junk Gypsies...

Amie and Jolie hail from Texas,
and started their career of junkin' with meager funds.
How inspiring considering the success this talented and super cute sister duo now share.

To truly make a good career of doing something you love, how awesome is that?!?  :)

Maybe some of you have been fortunate to shop in their junkin' booths at antique shows.

I'm impressed at the cool junk they find!
Junkin' heaven, I'm telling you!

And if you watch the show,
you can witness them transform ordinary junk into one-of-a-kind masterpieces!

On their show, they transform rooms,
but how about hosting a wedding reception for
Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton!

I'll say it again, the girls are living my life! ha! :)

For the Shelton's reception,
they also set up a VIP lounge in an Airstream Camper...

...of course, decorated with cool junkin' finds!

So...
in the meantime, I suppose I'll stick to my little 8x10 booth
at the local Antique Mall -- dabbling in my junk!

...and practice the Sikes Sister's saying...
"Hush Honey, this is good stuff!"
I'm country southern, so I already have the accent down!

...besides, it's not all about the fame, it's all about the fun of junkin'! :)

  2. I love the junkin' Gypsies too! Great pictures you shared.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving the nice comments about my watercolors! I tried to reply but you have the no-reply enabled. Just wanted to make sure that you knew...I didn't I had it enabled when I first started blogging (not that you just started) until someone told me. If people aren't responding to your comments, that's probably why. For some reason Blogger automatically has that enabled so you have to go into settings to change it.
Have a great week! And, thanks again for the kind words!

  9. I've never seen this show but then again on Saturday night I'm usually tending the girls and if the TV is on we're watching a Disney movie! I love Property Brothers and Income Property right now. Those guys are sexy through and through! I like Love It or List It too but then again, I've just discovered it! I'm kind of hooked on the new Storage Wars!

Take care and have a great weekend!
