Honey, I Shrunk The {Christmas} Tree

Friday, November 13, 2015

Last year,
I couldn't seem to rally the troops around here to help with the Christmas tree.
I was a decorating-party-of-one!

Usually an independent soul, I found myself at a disadvantage.
Our artificial tree was in storage, there was no way to get it out by myself.
Which also trickled over to no help bringing home a live one.

 {Excuse the picture quality, had just gotten my new camera.}

So what to do?

I went to the local Christmas tree lot and purchased the cutest, fattest,
little tree I could fine... it was precious!

I pulled out all the stops and decorated it with wild abandon,
just as I would have, had it been 10 feet tall and majestic!
I wasn't going to skimp because of it's size!

The petite tree worked well,
and an added bonus, after Christmas clean-up was quick and easy.

However, I did buy an artificial Christmas tree last week on sale.
I'm pretty certain the one in storage was ruined during our rainy summer... leaky roof.
Went down to the Big Lots right by myself, and lugged that booger home!

It's up and I'll be sharing it soon!

In the meantime,
I'll be starting a new job today... just a seasonal position a local boutique,
but I'm looking forward to it!

Please forgive me for being a little slow visiting around blogland.
Got to get use to this new schedule!  :)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Hi Rhonda! Oh, your little fat tree was so cute! You're so strong bringing in the tree yourself. Can't wait to see it I'm going to start decorating soon too!
    Be a sweetie,

  2. I love live trees, but the artificial variety is appealing as far as maintenance goes. I'm sure your new tree will be every bit as precious as the little one from last year. Can't wait to see it!

  5. Less really is more, isn't it?! I am really enjoying my dress form turned Christmas tree and not missing hauling out the bigger tree one bit! Can't wait to see your tree this year--best wishes on your job!

  6. Cute little Christmas tree. We downsized our tree since we downsized houses. We did have a huge 10 ft tree...its in the basement, but is too too big for upstairs! Hubby ordered a slim 7 1/2 ft tree with 800 lights! Ha. I am slowly fluffing it and adding pine sprigs to fill in. Sheila

  7. Your little tree is adorable!! My hubs and son want a bigger tree every year, and as much as I love it, fresh trees are messy, and a pain to put up and take down. I have a tiny tree at the beach house that stays decorated on the closet shelf so decorating takes about 30 seconds!! Have fun at your seasonal job~

  8. A part time job at a local boutique sounds like fun! I'd like to do that too.

I can just picture you lugging that booger home. I would too. :)
