A Versatile Lantern For The Seasons

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Hope everyone had a great and blessed Thanksgiving!

I suppose most of us are now in full swing Christmas-mode.
Sure wish the season lasted a little longer... love Christmas!

Have ya'll ever been to Ollie's?
My daughter introduced me to it back in the fall...
as if I needed another place to bargain shop!  :)

Pretty cool place, and the prices really were cheaper for the items I priced,
especially books!

I've been in search for a lantern for awhile, and couldn't turn this one down.
Can't recall the price, but it was relatively inexpensive.

Thought it would be a perfect piece to change according to the seasons,
starting with Fall.

I had all the embellishments on hand...

The lantern rested on a bench on the front porch,
shedding just a wee bit of light.

When the fall decorations came down,
the lantern received a new look... one to welcome Jolly Ole Saint Nick!

Everything to decorate it, came from my stash, except the ribbon.

The lantern found a new temporary home atop the TV Armoire.

The framed flag was from my late father-in-law's funeral.
It doesn't get moved, no matter the season or decor.
We consider it a great honor to have, and display it proudly!

How is your Christmas decorating coming along?
The inside of my home has been finished for about a week.
Saturday, I got out in the almost 80 degree weather... can you believe that,
...and did a little on the outside.

But it's not even December 1st yet,
so I'm sure they'll be lots of tweaking between now and the 25th!  :)

Wednesday, I'll be back to share the rest of the living room!
Hope you'll pop back in to check it out!
~Rhonda

  1. Love the way you spiffed up your lantern. We have several lanterns and I've been obsessing about them all weekend. I need to learn how to make the automatic candles come on with the timer so things don't have to be taken apart to turn on and off.
