Fall'icious Party

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

Monday evening, I hosted a Jewelry Trunk Party for a friend, at my home.
She's a representative for Stella & Dot.

Unsure of how many would attend, I combined vintage candlewick plates with clear glass modern ones for serving.

For table decorations, I added a white vintage pitcher overflowing with yellow ragweed,
to the already existing basket of gourds and pumpkins.

Surprisingly, the ragweed didn't bother my allergies as I feared.

Side Note: The pitcher was a yard sale find.
A hundred year old piece of an elderly friend's mother.

Made from scratch, Key Lime Pound Cake & Pumpkin Spice Bundt Cake, below...

{I intended on adding a glaze to the Bundt right before the party, but I ran short of time, and instead literally threw confectioners sugar on top -- worked out just fine!}

The fallish, cut-out leaves linen overlay, was a recent find at
Mr. Tablecloth in Gatlinburg, TN.

We had a wonderful time of fellowship -- just us girls! :)

"October gave a party; The leaves by hundreds came - The Chestnuts, Oaks, and Maples, And leaves of every name. The Sunshine spread a carpet, and everything was grand, Miss Weather led the dancing, Professor Wind the band. "-George Cooper

  13. Your serving dishes are just beautiful! I love the fanciness of the dishes in contrast with the rustic basket of pumpkins, and your cakes look delicious!

  14. Love the water pitcher. It reminds me of my great great grandmother's who brought it with her by covered wagon when she crossed the plains to Utah. Love it. Mom had it after her mother passed on and accidentally broke it when she was cleaning about a year before she passed away. She was heartbroken bz it shattered and couldn't be repaired.

You do set such a lovely table all the time. I'm attempting to set a nice one for the homecoming brunch. We'll see if I pull it off :)

  16. Thanks for visiting my blog! I love the presentation for your party and I kept chuckling thinking, "oh, I have that same cake plate, oh, I have that same Asian basket, and I have a tray just like that..." It's nice to find someone else with the same taste!

  17. Is THAT ragweed??? I had no idea! We have tons and tons of it growing wild here in the Kansas City, MO area, and I had no idea that's what it is! I have often stopped alongside the highway to gather some up. It's just so pretty that I never suspected!!! Uh oh...maybe that's the cause of my husband's sneezing and wheezing. Better check that out! You put on a lovely party, and I'm sure your friend will want you to host many future parties! The cakes look scrumpdillyicious!!!!! Have a great weekend!
