Elegant Autumn Tables For An Evening of Hope

Tuesday, November 8, 2016

If you follow RSG on my Instagram page, you may remember this big box overflowing with styrofoam, carvable pumpkins found at Dollar Tree, posted several months ago.

They were destined for a great purpose!  ;)

After a little makeover, they would become table number card holders, for the Annual Evening of Hope Banquet for The Living Hope Pregnancy Center, I serve on the board for.

My friend, Julia, and I usually join efforts in decorating for the banquet, but this fall she was involved with her two children's weddings, only a month apart. Needless to say, she had enough on her plate!

My inspiration for the table arrangements I wanted to keep simple, economical, but pretty and elegant, was the black and white buffalo check napkins.  You get just a glimpse of them in the picture, below. {Napkins online at Tablecloths Factory}

Backtracking to the pumpkins... they were painted with black chalk paint. I've in the past attempted to spray paint styrofoam, and the results were not good, ...ate at the styrofoam.  Didn't want to chance it with the pumpkins.  After drying, they appeared a little lackluster.  My daughter, Ashley, suggested the added glitter.  The stems were painted gold, and a slit cut across the top to hold the table number cards.

My vision for the banquet also included white hydrangeas... to me, they're just so elegant and pretty! Combined with coral roses, the arrangements were given a fall'ish feel.  The flowers were ordered online, and shipped to my home a few days prior, from Sam's Club.  (...highly recommend!)  The vases were bought at Dollar Tree.

Twenty tables were set...

The table number cards were designed on picmonkey.com, and printed off on cardstock.  I would be so lost without picmonkey!

The stems of the larger real pumpkins were painted gold.  The whimsical acorns came from two trees in my yard.  I spray painted and glued the bases back about two.hundred.and.fifty. of them!

At the "Welcome" table, entering the room, guests were greeted with a larger arrangement as they awaited the assignment of their designated table number.

After creating the base arrangement, and my MIL added some special touches...

...like the orange mesh tucked here and there...

Bet you'd never guess where the orange mesh originated...  from the bags the mini pumpkins were in! Perfect color, pretty ingenious of my MIL, Frances, don't you think?

Leftovers were combined to decorate a spot on the piano next to the stage...

On each table, one program was marked with a star on the back.  The holder of the marked program was given the flower arrangement on that table to take home and enjoy!  The recipients seemed very pleased!  :)

Living Hope is an organization very dear to my heart!  Pro-life, it gives much hope and help to many that will soon welcome a dear, precious child into this world!

Be sure to come back Friday, as I participate in the TOH Stunning Thanksgiving Vignettes.  We're on day two, and those shared so far have been wonderful!   Click {here} for links to visit! :)
