Starring North Carolina!

Friday, August 21, 2015

You know what I love about Raleigh,
and it's not just the shopping Ashley and I do... although that's pretty awesome, too!
...I love that there's always something to do, something to see, something to enjoy!

I think I'm more fond of the area than she is,
but then, I don't have to fight that traffic everyday!

We occasionally enjoy cultural outings,
such as a recent one to the North Carolina Museum of History,
in downtown Raleigh,
to see the temporary exhibit, Starring North Carolina.

Starring North Carolina is an interactive, major exhibit celebrating
100 years of films and television shows produced in NC.

Did you know that NC is home to the largest film studio outside of  California?
...and that 3,000 films and TV programs have been made here.

The 8,000 square foot exhibit features
props from many filmed in NC movies and TV series,
such as, Dawson's Creek...

One Tree Hill...

Hunger Games...

What a tiny waist Effie Trinket (Elizabeth Banks) has!

Safe Haven...

A Sweater from one of my all-time favorite movies,
Dirty Dancing...

Sleepy Hollow...

The Last of the Mohicans...

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...

Xmen...

The Fugitive...

Bull Durham...

Race car from Talledaga Nights...

There's lots more to see,
and if you're in the Raleigh area, the exhibit is open until September 7th.

You can even take a short walk to the State Capitol Building while there!

Hope you all have a greet weekend!  :)

  1. I had no idea about North Carolina being second only to Hollywood in filmmaking. How interesting! There's been some great movies there :)
