Welcome to my Front Porch
decorated for Fall...
decorated for Fall...
After two years of
I finally took the plunge and painted the front doors of our home black satin.
Originally, they were white,
and several years after we moved here I painted them burgundy.
Strange color, I know,
...but with Stucco siding and a Terracotta Tile roof, color choices are limited!
The burgundy had been a real booger to paint,
but Thanks so Sherwin Williams, and their best outdoor trim paint,
completing this long dreaded task was a cinch!
I also had plans to make orange and white ticking pillows.
But after some more of that "deliberation,"
...I concluded that my old giraffe print pillows were better suited! :)
The terracotta colored urns also got a new coat of paint,
...sprayed with Krylon Plastic Fusion black.
Love this stuff!

Love this stuff!
Check out what arrived by mail on my front porch today...
A new pillow ordered from the very talented Ann, of Sutton Place.
I'll reveal soon, which one of her creations I purchased!
And....
my "Blogging Calling Cards" {that just sounds so Southern doesn't it?}
came in from Vistaprint!
The count down to next weekend has begun...
The First Southern Bloggers Convention!
As for this weekend,
yard sales and auctions galore are on the menu!
October is looking good! :)

Rhonda: Your porch looks lovely....Those pillows are so awesome too! Have fun at the Bloggers Conference. Wish I was coming along too!
ReplyDeleteYour front porch looks beautiful! It's very welcoming.
ReplyDeleteRhonda, your porch is gorgeous! LOVE the black doors! Your arrangements looks so pretty on the them. The pumpkins, mums, and pillows just pop! The colors are beautiful together. You did a great job; and I absolutely LOVE your cards! Can I come over?
ReplyDeleteI just can hardly wait to hear about the convention. Maybe next year I will come....I go to South Carolina at least once a year!
ReplyDeleteI love love the black doors! I've been thinking about painting ours. Have fun at the convention!
ReplyDeleteHow fun to get to go to a blogging convention! There are bloggers I'd love to meet (and you're at the top of the list!) someday. Our trim is painted black on the house too and the rain gutters are black. Our brick is a maroon/burgandyish color too so I know about your "options" being limited. I really like your doors. I think they look classy. Great job on it all! Oh, and love that you painted the urns! Our flowers are long since dead and the leaves are turning the most beautiful fall colors. Oh, how I love this time of year!
ReplyDeleteYour front porch looks great, Rhonda! Love the doors black. I painted the front door at our old house black {from white also} and it really made a difference to the look of the front of the house.
ReplyDeleteHi Rhonda! Your front porch looks gorgeous! Your monogrammed pun'kin is so cute and the yellow mums looks go perky up by your evergreen. Your front doors are so pretty and those tin baskets are so pretty! Looks like you're really ready for fall!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in to see me and you are a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Rhonda, this looks wonderful. You have such a gift for decorating, and I like your monogrammed pumpkin. SO cute. And your giraffe pillows add the perfect graffic punch. They actually look a bit like mosaics, and the color and design is perfect there. They remind me a lttle of slate or stone and echo your masonry walk and house. NEAT.
ReplyDeleteIf there are typos in this, please excuse. Fred loaned me his IPAD, and I can't see on this to type. But I TRY.
Happy Fall...
XO,
Sheila
Your porch looks beautiful and the new black paint is very classic. Your giraffe pillows are perfect, too!

ReplyDeleteI have no idea how I missed this post? Oh well, your fall porch is beautiful! I really am thinking in my old age that simple is better, lol. Not that your old, but I am! Your black satin doors are beautiful, too! I had a black front door once upon a time, but got a wild hair and changed to red. Your making me re-think that now. Oh my, I am too old to be out there changing things!
ReplyDeleteSaw you at Boogieboard #6....your fall decor front door is amazing love the bench and pillows.Following and blog found it's respectful place on my sidebar.
ReplyDeleteHave ton's of fun at the convention!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty front porch! I love the black doors and urns and your mums and pumpkins look great (love the monogram)! If I wasn't a renter, I would love to paint our door & shutters black. I really like the numbers spelled out over the doors. Mr. Rabbit is lovely too! Thanks for sharing at Gettin' Krafty!
ReplyDeleteThank you, sweet Rhonda, for your kindness to me.
