She Sells Seashells...

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

On a recent thriftin' outing,
I found the super cute wood Mermaid ....

...and a tub of collected seashells.

The Mermaid was sporting a sticker of $40.00 from when she was brand new,
but I got her second-hand for $1.99, and the shells were 99 cents!
Both were found at the local Salvation Army Thrift.
What a totally "nauti-deal!" :)

Isn't she just a sexy thing with that star string 'kini,
and jeweled "hair!"

Sure hope others think so,
she'll be available in my booth at The Carolina Country Peddlers Mall.

No detail was overlooked, including the pink starfish base.

The shells were an interesting mix,
...someone's vacation collection, I'm sure!

Each worn, with character,
a story to tell of their journey in the sea!

AND
I have exciting news!!!

The $2.00 auction chair below.....

Got a new "nauti-transformation" of it's own!
A coat of AS Duck Egg Blue
and new cushion of beautiful shells,
...and will available in my booth at my SECOND location!

That's right
on Monday, I'll be moving into a booth at
Lou's Flower World - Garden Center & Florist, in Wilmington.

I'm busy painting small furniture pieces like crazy,
and lovin' it! :)

{The lighting was off in the picture,
 the fabric and paint are much more similar in color than they appear in the photo!}

"She sells seashells by the seashore.
The shells she sells are surely seashells.
So if she sells shells on the seashore,
I'm sure she sells seashore shells."

  1. Oh how I love the beach and the sea! These would fit perfectly into my new sewing sanctuary theme. I'm done painting the walls but am finishing up painting the doors and drawer fronts. Hopefully it will be all done soon. I'm moving my sewing stuff into the room now. Every time I go to the basement I bring a little something upstairs....darn these stairs! I'm sure everything will sell well. The shells certainly were unique too! I only have shells from our trip to California eons ago and Trav brought me home some that he bought in Kauai and on Oahu. Gotta love that boy!

    Hope you're smiling today!

  2. P.S. You're probably wondering what in the world I'm doing on the computer at 2:00 a.m.! Just woke up (have pneumonia again) and realized that my cell phone was charging on the computer. I came down and decided to see what was going on in the world outside my own! Craziness, now I won't be able to sleep at all...or maybe I'll sleep better dreaming of some day going back to the beach!
