RMN 6 - Pillow Storage Solution & a Give-away

Sunday, February 12, 2012

A large part of Refreshing My Nest the last few weeks
has been putting random things back into their rightful place, with some going into storage.
{I let things get a little out of hand and out of place over the Holidays, with all the the hustle and bustle!!!}

As I rounded up stray items, many currently unused pillows were collected.
They were stashed everywhere, behind beds, under beds, in spare closets, in the corners of rooms....
As much as I LOVE pillows, my husband equally detests them.
I like to change out pillows for the seasons, ...or just when the notion strikes.

So... I collected them all together and came up with a pretty nifty storage solution.

Supplies Needed
-Metal Curtain Tabs
-Nails
-A Hammer

I attached a metal curtain tab to one corner of each pillow.

In the rafters of the attic, I nailed nails.....

And from each nail, I hung the pillows.
Works like a charm!
Now they are up and out of the way, and should guests ever visit the attic (little furry ones), hopefully they will be out of harms away.

My last RMN Project tackled, will be refreshing the master bedroom.
Working on that now.
I had new pillow cases monogrammed in the "Fishtales Font."
When I complete that project, which I'll share later, I'm sticking a fork in it and calling it done!

On a slightly different note,
I woke up Saturday morning to a new addition to the mantel.

If you follow my blog, you are familiar with the reason behind Ashley's picture on the mantel,
and how I decorate around it for each season.

David has never uttered a word about her picture being on the mantel,
and his pictures are scattered throughout the house in other areas.
Little did I know, he was felt just a little slighted.

Ashley took this picture of David at one of his recent basketball games
and had it printed and framed for me Friday.
David placed it, and although the scale is a little off,
it appears I have one more picture to decorate around now!
AND I wouldn't move it for the world! "smiles"

  7. Hope you know that I'm a follower already! I smiled at the picture and am so happy that David has a place on the mantel now too. :) Sweet of Ashley to take it and get it ready for him to put up. I smiled too at the "fresh linen-scented tea lights." The scent always reminds me of the wonderful bed and breakfast we spent our 25th wedding anniversary at. Can you believe in April we'll be married 30 years?! Where, oh where did all my life go?! Thanks for giving me a shot at the give-away, everything looks so much fun!

  15. awww, what a sweet little picture. All it needs is it's very on tiny shelf, hanging around that awesome mirror somewhere and the little photo put there for all the world to see. So sweet.

I love your pillow storage...I would have to put mine in plastic bags as it is dusty and sandy out here in West Texas but the hooks would still work. Great idea. And, yes, most men HATE all the pillows, especially the ones piled on our bed. :))

Now, I just about had a runaway when I saw this awesome giveaway. I love everything you included.
