Painted Pumpkin Pallet & A Pumpkin Patch Visit

I'm way behind schedule for putting out my outdoor fall scene.

But as you probably know,

 the weather in the southeast hasn't been cooperative.

After about three weeks straight of nastiness,

 we finally have beautiful fall weather,

  gorgeous sunshine,

 ...and the temps... they are even better!

Loving it!  ;)

Before I began to assemble my fall scene,

I had a project to complete.

It all started with a pallet,

which was a little awkward in size, much too tall.

So I borrowed Mr. Ramblings' sawzall,

and cut about 18" off.

Not difficult,

but I did get a little concerned when what I hoped was sawdust

and not smoke, started swirling above the pallet as I cut.

Since the wood was dark from age,

I painted a white background for the base.

My daughter, Ashley, happened to be home for a few days,

so she painted the pumpkin and saying on the pallet.

She's a much better artist than I!

What's a fall scene without a pumpkin or two?

Ashley and I took a short trip to the local pumpkin patch, Bullock Pumpkins.

 

Bullock Pumpkins Patch is a family-owned business,

and they are one friendly bunch!

The patch (farm) is out in the country,

and the retail part sits in front of the beautiful family home.

Wouldn't this home make a wonderful B&B?

They offer around 47 varieties of pumpkins and gourds.

Bringing in another load!

They also carry mums, of different sizes and colors,

grown on the farm!

After much deliberation,

very hard decision, (in a good kinda way)...

Ashley and I made our selections and home we went to assemble our scene!
