On a cool, downright chilly March evening,
I waited...
{not so patiently, cause I was freezing my patootie off}
at an outdoor auction for THREE hours to bid on the chair below.
Although it was funky ...and not in the good kinda way funky,
I had visions in my head of the beauty she could be!
Pretty disgusting, huh???
But for $3.00, how could I pass her up?
Removed the cushion and began my transformation...
With sexy little legs like these, she just had to have potential!
While I already had a can of Annie Sloan Old White open,
I decided to do double duty and paint the old farm table below.
After years of wear and tear, it needed some serious TLC, too!
After the painting was complete,
I recovered the old cushion
with a fun and funky (in a good way) pink leopard print upholstery fabric.
...or is it a cheetah print, I can never keep the two straight!
Anyhow, here she is,
restored and looking quite pretty, if I do say so myself! :)
Hoping she will find a new home soon, selling both pieces in my booth.
Now on to my next project....

I love it. You are so talented. Love the pink cheetah print. Great for a girl's room.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! Great makeovers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous transformations! I love the funky print you chose for the chair.
ReplyDeleteWhat a change! I love to do fun, funky stuff sometimes too! Freezing? Oh my, where are you? We have been wearing shorts for weeks here. Just come stay with me until your area is warm.
ReplyDeletethat chair is sexy!! I am sure she will find a home in some ladie's wonderful dressing room!!
ReplyDeleteI pulled Kaje' down to look at the chair and table. I've been trying to explain to her about what we could do with old furniture to make her home cute. She really liked the print on the chair too. Our thrift store doesn't get too much that's not completely worn out (we're pretty frugal in my area) but if we could find something like this. She forgets too that her mom is a cabinetmaker and can fix drawers, etc. I bought a bar stool once that had a cracked seat and looked awful but I pulled out the clamps, glued it, and after it was redone you can't even tell there was ever a crack there. It's been 17 years and it's still holding together and looking good! You're inspiring me to paint. I think I'll get brave soon and spray paint two little tables in my front room. I can't decide if they should be maroon or blue though, what do you think? You've seen pictures of my front room and the main colors are maroon and blue with my Americana stain on the wood. I thought it would change it up and be cute. What do you think?
