Keeping It Quick, Keeping It Simple

Nothing better than a simple project
to add a little extra hmmmphhh to your decor!

Old Footstool Makeover

Materials Needed:
~~ Spray Paint ~~
~~ New Fabric ~~
~~ Staple Gun ~~

The brown wood stool was spray painted black, a year ago.
It's been patiently waiting in the garage --- in the infamous "to-do" heap.

Used a remnant of pale yellow and ivory large checked silk.

Puckers aren't quite as prevalent in person.

Placed next to the TV Armoire...

Another quick and simple project...
Purchased the Calendar of Parrots off of Ebay.
Each monthly beautiful large print was perforated, separating the calendar section, intended for reframing.

Frames found at AC Moore ... 55% off a few weeks ago.
Replaced a couple of large, long tropical prints that were getting a little faded.

"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."
-- Albert Einstein

  9. I have a couple of footstools that need some updating but I just never seem to get around to it. Right now I'm trying to finish up the hand stitching on Travis' mission memory quilt so I can run it to the quilter's. I just ordered the rest of the backing from Kauai. I'd ordered the border fabric from them a year ago and the more I looked at it and worked with it the more I loved it. My quilter promised to get it back to me the first part of Dec. so I can give it to Trav when he comes home. Usually I wait 6-9 months for my projects to be done. I also have another quilt that has to get pieced before I pack up my sewing room and give it back to Travis.

Sorry I haven't been around much. After Christmas when I can post what I've done you'll see that I really was busy!

It's good to see you posting. Thanks for supporting the girls to in the contest. :)

  12. Rhonda, I love the new look of your stool and your pictures. Your home is just gorgeous. That is so cool that you used to be a director for AWANA. It's a wonderful program. I praise God for it. Thank you for your kind comments to me. Enjoy your weekend. Kathi
